Requirements to board

To board at Pet Lodge your dogs will need to have been vaccinated and you will need to show your certificates upon arrival so that we can record the date and batch numbers of the vaccines given. These must include:

Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirous, Para Influenza, Leptospirosis &  Kennel Cough

DHPPI & Lepto form part of the annual boosters given to your dog. Kennel Cough is also required which is given by placing a small amount of vaccine droplets up the dogs nose. Whilst called Kennel Cough (an unfortunate name) this condition can be caught anywhere  – at dog training classes, vets, kennels or even out walking your dog as the virus is carried on tiny air spores and dogs breath in the spores and catch Kennel Cough (Infectious Bronchitus). A dog is at it’s most infections before any coughing symptons are seen so we ask that your dog is vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.

Under the new licencing regulations coming into force on 1st January 2019 we are also required to keep records of when your dogs received their latest worming and flea/tick treatments.

We also believe that it is a good idea to bring a small bit of bedding which has plenty of your home and pets scent on it -as we find this does help dogs to settle.

So apart from your vaccination, working and flea/tick treatment records, a bit of soft bedding (we provide beds and fleece and put your bit of bedding in with it) and your dog, you do not require anything else – unless you want to bring some of their favourite toys for them to play with in their runs and any favourite treats.
